Launa developed the style of painting, she calls POETRY ART, in 1989/90. It is the technique of creating artwork with words from a poem that she has penned for the painting. Since its inception, Launa's unique brand of art has been exhibited, sold & collected worldwide. Launa is self-taught, as both an Artist & a Writer, she credits her remarkable talent as a sacred gift from God. The subject matter for POETRY ART is mostly figurative in nature & are often that of people, especially children, she has encountered in her travels. Many times, Launa publishes prints to raise revenue for a variety of charitable causes in the U.S. & abroad. She has been to over 20 countries, both as a tourist & to bring relief to suffering people. She & her husband founded Global Impact, a non-profit organization that aids in times of war, famine, natural disasters & profound poverty. Launa's art can be purchased in over 100 exclusive galleries & has been exhibited in museums.She has the distinction of being the only American Painter on permanent display at the Chernobyl Museum in Kiev, Ukraine. Launa's work is collected by Heads of State, Presidents of countries, Ambassadors, Governors & Mayors, as well as the average home from the United States to Russia & from Japan to Peru.
